The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

Since we started at Penn State with three children and had four when I graduated, I was not the typical student. I was 31 years of age at graduation and had been out of high school for ten years before matriculation. During the course of my life our family moved around starting in Pennsylvania, then Italy, Delaware, Illinois, Utah, and Alabama. Retiring in 1987, my wife and I lived in Alabama as a retired couple until 1998 when we moved to Santa Rosa, CA. Since retiring, we have done volunteer work in the Philipines and Poland as well as taken numerous cruises and trips to other parts of the world. Although my wife and I are native Pennsylvanians, we really love this part of California for its weather and many different opportunities. We live in a retirement community called Oakmont Village of about 4500 residents . We are about an hour from the coast and in wine country. We enjoy taking a bottle of wine, some Brie cheese and French bread to the coast to relax while the waves pound the beach and we read an interesting mystery novel. We try to travel to Pennsylvania once a year to visit relatives and old friends. Our latest trip last year was by rail and was our first rail trip in over 60 years. We are enjoying life and taking advantage of our retirement We would be pleased to hear from any old friends from our class who might be visiting our part of California
